The EASI-STRESS project is engaged in making neutron and synchrotron residual stress measurement accessible to industry by establishing measurement protocols, guidelines and calibration/reference samples.
The workshop aims to align knowledge from expert synchrotron users from both academia and industry to discuss, step by step, how to prepare, conduct and analyse data from synchrotron XRD residual stress measurements The input will be used to draft an official CEN Technical Specification.
9:00 - 9:15 Welcome, presentation round, scope of workshop
9:15 - 9:30 Status of the EASI STRESS development of a technical Specification for synchrotron XRD residual stress analysis
9:30- 12:00 Discussion of selected topics:
1)Sample definition e.g. materials , geometry, texture, microstructure 2) Instrument preparation (alignment procedures , calibration) 3) Measurement methods (transmission, reflection, sample positioning gauge volume) 4) Data analysis and s tress calculation e.g. meta data format, software) 5) Estimation of uncertainties
A presenter for each topic is selected. Participants are invited to show own slides (max. 5 min pr. topic).
12:00 - 12:15 Closing and next steps
Physical participation is encouraged, but online participation is possible. If you arrive the day before, EASI-STRESS will host the evening dinner for you.
